I had an epiphany last night. I was sitting in the living room, doing nothing of importance, when inspiration hit me. I picked up my pen and notebook and wrote until I finished the next chapter of my newest book. Chapter three: complete. At last the story is moving along again and I can barely contain my excitement as it comes to life on the pages of my notebook. This is still just the beginning and I’m off to start chapter four. Three chapters down and plenty to go. Stay tuned, there may be a sneak…Read more
Book Review: Bridge Of Clay
I am going to keep this book review as simple as possible and just say...I loved it! This story made me laugh and made me cry and also made me desperately want a mule for my backyard (but definitely not my kitchen). The writing perfectly described what I think it would feel like to grow up in house with 5 boys, which at times made me envious and at others thankful that I am an only child. This story was much different from A Book Thief, but offered the same brilliant writing technique of Markus Zusak. I…Read more

How Sweet It Is...
Ocean Isle Beach is, by far, my favorite vacation spot on the North Carolina coast. Every year my family and I spend three to four days there, sunbathing with our toes squishing in the sand, hunting for shark’s teeth amongst thousands of seashells, and swimming in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Of course, no trip to Ocean Isle is complete without at least one stop at the neighboring Sunset Beach for a two-scoop, waffle cone from the How Sweet It Is Ice Cream Boutique. Wanda, the owner, is always…Read more
